Members & roles

How people get access to Auretis through company-wide roles, with project membership layered on top.

Access in Auretis has two layers: a company role that every user has across the whole account, and optional project membership that grants access to a specific project.

Company roles

Every member of your company has exactly one company role, managed in Settings → Members:

  • Company Admin: full access to everything. Manage company settings, invite and manage members, create projects, and administer every project and test.
  • Employee: the working role. Can sign in and see the company, but reaches a project only when added to it with a project role.
  • Viewer: read-only across the whole company. Can see every project, test, and run, but can't change anything.

Inviting members

Company Admins add people from Settings → Members with Invite Member: enter an email address and pick a company role. The invitee gets an email, sets up their account, and joins with the role you chose. Invitations that haven't been accepted yet appear under Pending Invitations, where they can be revoked. A Company Admin can also change a member's role from the same screen.

How this affects project access

Your company role decides how you reach a project:

  • Company Admins administer every project automatically, no membership needed.
  • Viewers can read every project automatically, no membership needed.
  • Employees see only the projects they've been added to, each with a per-project role.

That's why you only ever add Employees to a project. For the project-level roles (Tester and Project Admin) and how to add members, see Projects.
